Phoenix Help for Uptown Homes

HVAC Service in Uptown

Uptown has many single-story ranch homes on larger lots, plenty of them remodeled over the years. Remodels often change rooms without changing the ducts, and that is where comfort problems start.

Adams Refrigeration has been part of Phoenix since 1947, working from N 35th Ave with technicians on an hourly wage. Prices are given up front.

We include three years of maintenance with each new system. Call (602) 269-6447 or book online.

Local Know-How

HVAC for Ranch Homes and Remodels

North-central Phoenix around Central Avenue is known for mid-century ranch houses on generous lots, many updated or expanded over the decades, alongside newer infill homes.

Remodels and Additions

Moved walls and added rooms often leave the ducts behind. We measure airflow at each register and rebalance, resize or add returns where needed.

Original Ducts

Old ducts can waste much of a new system's output. We check their condition and size before replacing equipment.

Permits and Utilities

Our team files the Planning and Development Department permit for every replacement. To check APS or SRP, use the SRP service area map.

Repair or Replace?

Uptown systems are often original to a remodel or older. These are the signs we weigh when you ask whether to repair or replace.

A Repair Usually Makes Sense

Fix it and keep going
  • Your system is under about 10 years old
  • The unit has been reliable with no repeat breakdowns
  • The repair cost is a small fraction of a new system
  • Energy bills have stayed steady, not climbing
  • The issue is a single, clearly identified part

It May Be Time to Replace

Upgrade for comfort and savings
  • The system is 12 to 15 years old or more
  • You are facing frequent or expensive repairs
  • Energy bills keep rising with no change in use
  • Some rooms never get comfortable
  • Your unit uses older, phased-out refrigerant

We inspect the system and give you a repair price and a replacement price side by side. Book a visit or call (602) 269-6447.

I had my AC Blower Motor not working so air was not circulating inside the home. I had another company/technician do the diagnostic and was charging way too much for the repair(only labor charges). I reached out to Adam's as they are Authorized dealer for Carrier(my HVAC unit manufacturer). They were able to schedule the appointment quickly and also gave a courtesy call letting me know when the technician will arrive. The technician came with the part(as I already explained the issue to them), ran a quick diagnostic to ensure it was same problem and was done within an hour. Very reasonable priced(I compared quotes from multiple companies) and also took care of the issue.

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

Do you work on mid-century ranch homes in Uptown?

Arrow Down

Yes. Many Uptown homes are single-story ranches on larger lots, some with original ducts. We check duct condition and size before replacing equipment, since old ducts can waste much of a new system's output.

My home was remodeled and some rooms run hot. Can you fix that?

Arrow Down

Usually. Remodels often move walls and add rooms without changing the ducts. We measure airflow at each register, then rebalance, resize ducts or add a return where needed.

Do you service gas furnaces in Uptown?

Arrow Down

Yes. We repair and replace gas furnaces and heat pumps, and test for carbon monoxide on every heating call. See furnace repair.

Will a bigger AC fix my hot remodeled rooms?

Arrow Down

Rarely. Most remodel comfort problems are airflow; we measure and fix the ducts first.
